PM Imran Khan's Two Days visit to Russia


ISLAMABAD: PM Landed in Moscow for a two days visit to Russia from Feb 23rd to 24th. The essence of this visit is to prioritize the delayed construction of the multi-billion dollar gas pipeline in collaboration with Russian companies.
Our PM was received at the airport by the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and was presented by the military's guard of honor.
The PM will go under a COVID-19 test and then continue his activities at 11:00 am on Thursday.

PM's Timetable for 24th Feb:
  • 1 pm; laying a wreath at the tomb of Unknown Soldier
  • 3 pm; Lunch with President Putin
  • 5:30 pm; Interview with Mikhail Gusman
  • 6 pm; Call on by Deputy PM
  • 6:45 pm; Interaction with Pak Media
  • 8:30 pm; Meeting with Businessmen
  • 10 pm; Visit Islamic Centre
  • 11:30 pm; Departure


PM's trip to meet the Russian President and discuss issues about economic cooperation and the new sanctions for Russia's military deployment into Eastern Ukraine.
Pakistan's energy ministry told us about the Pakistan Stream gas pipeline. According to him, Hammad Azhar is also with the PM on the visit to Russia.
The 683-mile pipeline was agreed upon in 2015 and financially supported by Moscow and Islamabad with the Russian construction company.
PM was concerned about Ukraine and wanted to discuss new sanctions with the effects on Islamabad-Moscow's budding cooperation.
This project is really important for the power sector of Pakistan as the country is very much dependent on the LNG.
